Community associations are a significant slice of the housing market in this state. And yet, many people have very little knowledge about community associations,
even if they intend to purchase property in a community association. Take this course and receive an overview of some important topics related to Residential Community Associations.

  • Identify various forms of residential community associations in Florida.
  • Understand the unique characteristics of community association living.
  • Explain the sources of authority in a community association (e.g. statutes, governing documents, etc.).
  • Discuss the financial liability related to the sale of a delinquent unit.
  • Guide an investor through the process of locating investment property.
  • List key developer and non-developer disclosures to be made prior to sale.
  • Explain the purposes and content of a prospectus or offering circular.
  • Explain the purposes and content of a Rider.
  • Discuss age restrictions, pet policies, and reasonable accommodations.
  • Understand the concept of transfer approval.

Class cancellations for “Specialty” courses (Designations/Certifications/license renewal) received within 3 business days of the class start day will be subject to a $20 cancellation fee, which would result in a partial refund of the paid registration fee. If the aforementioned registration was not paid, an invoice for the $20 cancellation fee will be applied.

Members who “No Show” a class without notice of cancellation prior to class will not be eligible for a refund of the registration fee.
